My Epic Valentine Book Mail

“There are no faster or firmer friendships than those formed between people who love the same books.”

–Irving Stone

Valentine book exchange

Kindly excuse my messy mom bun and let’s just appreciate how HUGE this box is!! But before I begin showing you the contents of what is probably the most epic book mail I have ever received–let me clarify a few things first:

What is BGPH TITAS?

BGPH means Bibliophile Guild PH (formerly Bookstagramers Philippines), a book club that I belong to. The Titas is a sort of subgroup within the club. A “Tita” means aunt, but we use it more as a term of endearment for each other. It’s also a self-deprecating private joke that means we’re all getting old and frumpy. Our first book exchange was last Christmas and it was such a successful and joyful event that we decided to do it again for Valentine’s 🌹

Last Christmas’ Titas book exchange!

Now that that’s out of the way–let’s move on to the unboxing! ✨

Pretty book box

So this is the real book box!! It’s so pretty 😍 The reason the main box is so big is because my book club friends added in a lot of treats for my son. I won’t include everything here but will just focus on the bookish things.

Elias Malonzo
My son Elias—the Titas can’t resist spoiling this cutiepie!

We had a wishlist where the only requirement is that the book should be Romance (because it’s Valentine’s) and the price of the book should only be 500PHP, or around 10USD. I got TWO books and A LOT of really pretty stuff ✨

Fangirl by rainbow rowell and jane eyre by charlotte bronte

I’ve always wanted to read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, and I specifically requested this Penguin English Library edition because it matches my copy of Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell has been on my wishlist for so long now because I really enjoyed Eleanor & Park. It was added as a bonus by the generous Titas.

The letter “P” for my name Princess is also included in the box. I have requested my husband to paint it and I’m so excited to see the result! Also inside the box are love notes and flowers and private jokes that I won’t share here anymore 😆

Sharing photos of the other gift items included:

Bookish pin

I love this bookish pin! I can wear this all the time.

The Diary of Cat Frank

Funny notebooks and magnets! Cute washi tapes! Pastel highlighters with fruity scent! Am I in heaven?! 😍

Floral necklace watch

I have said it before and will say it again, I love anything floral. This necklace watch is my new favorite thing!

🌸🌸🌸

And that’s it! I just love my Titas to bits! Do check out their bookstagram pages because their book photos are just lovely 🌹
