The Kiss Quotient is about two people who have had to pretend to be somebody else a lot of times during their lives. Two people who have had challenges in terms of receiving true acceptance from those who surround them.

In truth, I almost gave up on these two because it’s all too sexual and almost dragging for me at the beginning. I read and I enjoy erotica, but I guess I was just not ready to get as much heat as I did in the beginning of this book. Dear reader, you’ve been warned 🔥

“I don’t want just a night or a week or a month with you. I want you all the time. I like you better than calculus, and Math is the only thing that unites the universe.”

I thought the misunderstandings were a bit too flimsy and I do tend to get tired of it when it’s used as a plot tool. I just feel that as adults, the characters could have been more mature about things. It’s so obvious they’re attracted to each other. I am honestly not so crazy about all the misinterpretation that I commonly see in romance fiction. But then again, that’s just me and perhaps I am just nitpicking here.

With that being said, I did eventually get to enjoy the sweet moments and the uncomplicated nature of the conflicts. If you decide to read this, just remember to sit back and enjoy the range of feels from fluffy to steamy to sweet as honey. I realize I was just thinking too much and not letting the characters figure things out and sort their feelings for each other. I need to remember that as a reader I have a different perspective.

“If you can’t stand being with a woman who’s more successful than you, then leave her alone. She’s better off without you. If you actually love her, then know the value of that love and make it a promise. That is the only thing she needs from you.”

As a whole, it is a fun and sexy read. I love the message of empowerment promoted by this book. Males and females are equal in all aspects. We are also reminded that we need not escape our weaknesses, but rather accept it and learn as much as we can about it so we can live with it rather than against it. Our differences and our vulnerabilities are what make us special as human beings.

“This crusade to fix herself was ending right now. She wasn’t broken. She saw and interacted with the world in a different way, but that was her.”

It is a pleasure to see Stella and Michael grow as individuals while finding their way towards each other. I enjoyed all the Vietnamese culture references, and I really learned a lot about autism. I now realize how little I know about it. I admire the author for sharing her story and for creating such adorable characters. I am certainly looking forward to her other works. 💖
