Biblioflora is the brainchild of Irish Ramos (founder of the social enterprise Habi Batangan) and yours truly, Princess Malonzo (of Haliya Publishing). After more than a decade of friendship, buddy reads and postcard exchanges, we have decided to create our very own literary art and goods store that will feature our shared love for books and nature.
We enlisted the help of my husband Mervin Malonzo (National Book Award-winning author of Tabi po) to execute our vision. It took a little more than a year and a lot of brainstorming before our concept was fully realized.
Our first collection of bookmarks are all original watercolor paintings printed on premium textured paper with gold foil stamping and back design. The paper we chose is strong but still as delicate as flower petals to ensure zero damage to your precious books. There are eight variants based on popular genres: Young Adult, Horror, Romance, Mystery, Fantasy, Contemporary, Historical and Sci-fi.
We had our soft launch at the Cebu Literary Festival last month, just in time for our birthdays. Irish and I are both July babies 🌸

We just launched the online store yesterday and to celebrate, I am hosting a giveaway of 1 set of our first collection of bookmarks to one lucky winner. As a bonus, I will also include a brand new copy of The Princess Bride by William Goldman—because it has my name on it 👸🏻 JK! It’s one of my favorites and for me it’s one of the very few book-to-movie adaptations that did it right. If you are not yet familiar with this cult classic, please do check it out 👍🏻
