“Remember to replenish yourself. You are not the ocean. You are not infinite. But, with regular rejuvenation, you can be.”
The secrets to joy, aren’t secrets at all. They aren’t being whispered. You are just not listening loudly enough to the wisdom of your inner voice.
This book is a reminder to listen.
It is a detailed exploration of elements such as personal qualities, interpersonal skills and healthy habits that make up the path to intuitive happiness and productivity. (Goodreads)
I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. What Your Soul Already Knows by Dr. Salma Farook is a collection of short and straightforward pieces in A-Z format intended to inspire you to live fully. As what you would have guessed from the title itself, these are really just little reminders of the things you may have forgotten due to the trappings of a mundane life. If you like self-help or inspirational essays, then maybe this is for you.
“Vulnerability is a magnet for honesty, and honesty is the very basis of human connections.”
I appreciate the book’s bright and optimistic tone. The lessons are very general in nature and would encompass a broad range of topics so that the reader can easily choose to apply them according to his/her personal issues or struggles. It would be interesting to read a more focused topic or theme from the author in the future.
“Power isn’t controlling everything that happens to us. No one can do that, not even the richest man alive.”
I can’t really say if this will work for everyone. It certainly did not work for me. I honestly very rarely reach for self-help books. I am of the belief that there can really be no manual for pursuing happiness and/or ways on how to live a successful life. I rather think that this kind of self-realization can be achieved through any book that is well-written, be it fiction or nonfiction. 🌸
“You will fall, but maybe, you will fly, and that is the gift you give yourself: the entire horizon.”
